China Glaze Hunger Games Collection : Agro

Like the rest of the world, I fell in love with The Hunger Games when I read it. I devoured every word and flew through all three books in less than a week. So when I found The Hunger Games line of nail polish at my local Sally, I just had to collect em all! (tm Pokemon)

Here is Agro. A gorgeous metallic green named for District 11 (I heart Rue and Thresh btw. Would love a whole book about them and the lives of their district prior to the 74th annual Hunger Games)
Topped it off with another one of my stamping plates in Sally Hansen Xtreme Gold. It has an art deco feel to it. Subtle for me. Absolutely shimmers in the sun.

Agro had a great consistency, nearly opaque in one coat, 2nd coat perfection. Topped with Seche Vite top coat.

I’ll try to post a review of each color from the Hunger Games line that I own. Stay tuned! If you can find any of these available for purchase, grab one or two. They are limited edition and will eventually be gone.

Let’s have some fun, shall we?

I am by no means a professional anything.

Scratch that, yes I am, and my close friends will back me up on this one. I am a professional smart ass. What can I say, it’s a gift.

Thanks to my constant need to be creative, I have in recent months, taken up the hobby of nail art. Now let me be clear on this. I can’t draw. My stick figure skills are that of a 5 year old. But that doesn’t matter! There are ways to cheat when it comes to this form of “art”. Everything from stickers to stamps can turn a talentless finger painter like myself into a nail beauty queen! I know there are others out there like me who enjoy pretty things but just can’t manage to create them on their own. So in the theme of sharing, here is a little blog that may hopefully inspire or educate someone who is looking for a fun new hobby.

Now what does all of this crap have to do with my status as a professional smart ass you ask? Not a damn thing!! But it will make the adventure more enjoyable (well, for me at least) and hopefully a little entertaining for you. My “art” won’t be perfect. My ideas won’t be groundbreaking. And my humor may not be G rated. Don’t like it? Well…Kiss My Acetone. Now sit back and watch the circus that is sure to be this blog. Take a deep breath. The combination of the acetone and nail polish is going to be buzz inducing. Nice. 🙂

My first pic is just a simple swatch from my favorite line of lacquer, China Glaze. This is actually one of their matte polishes, I just put a coat of Seche Vite topcoat over it because I felt like shiny nails that day.

Color is called Flying Dragon and pictures can not do it justice. So unusual! It really does look like it does in the bottle, with the neat mixture of blue and purple.
And then there’s the inclusion of my current addiction, glitter polish. One nail only. OPI’s Muppets line has several fabulous glitters. This one is called Excusez Moi!, one of several Miss Piggy inspired colors. That pig is my inspiration. She doesn’t take any crap from anyone!! (although she does have a man’s hand up her ass and is always following a damn frog, which makes my worship of her strange and sad. But what the hell. At least it isn’t Snooki, right?)

Stay tuned, I’ll share my nail stamping addiction, trouble cuticles, and my preferred stubborn polish removal method. Oh and a buttload of new polishes to review.
