Milani One Coat Glitter

Made it through the eye of Hurricane Isaac unscathed. Went back to work for one shift and broke a nail. Just………….I’m over it.

So we have some shorties to paint for a while, no biggie. Here is a quick and easy mani using Milani’s One Coat Glitter polish in gold. I used some stickers from the nail care section of Walmart made for easy French tips over a coat of China Glaze base coat. Then topped with three, yes three! coats of Seche Vite, as this glitter polish absolutely devours top coat.

This gold sparkles like crazy in the sun. Simple and elegant, but also sparkly and unique.

Mid week mani – Black Lace (sort of)

Since I’m off from work tonight, I decided to use my down time while nothing’s on tv to freshen up my mani. We are not an American Idol household, not since season 2. So amidst the reruns of Family Guy and King of the Hill, I played around until I came up with this.

A pale pink? How tame for me! A black lace(ish) design stamped in black? Ahhh, that’s more like it.

I really struggled with this Milani polish. Three coats later and it finally was pink enough. It was so streaky and difficult to build. Drying time seemed long too. That said, it dries super glossy. The color is too cute and would look great with a flaky shimmery topcoat.

This is yet another plate, stamped in Konad Special Polish black. Stamped like a dream!!!

And Aww, look at my little stubby index finger nail finally growing a bit. I’m still mad at that drawer at work.

All that glitters….

I’ll admit it, I’m addicted to things that sparkle. Glitter polish is so much fun and it adds pop to nails so easily.

My favorite brand for glitter polish is Milani. When they say “One Coat Glitter” they aren’t kidding! A close 2nd is their Jewel FX line. Dense hex glitter ahoy!! Combine the two and you’ve got some serious sparkle.

This week I decided to go black and gold. Wearing my colors with my head high is difficult lately, but it never stopped me before. It’s rare that I do traditional tips, and this is no exception.
I started with two coats of Wet & Wild – Wild Shine in Black Creme’. Probably could have one coated it, it’s that good. But I like two coats.
Brushing from tips down I used Milani One Coat Glitter in Gold Glitz, followed by a coat of Milani Jewel FX in Gold. Two coats of Seche Vite top coat finished it off.

Glossy – check. Glittery – check. In the words of my daughter’s favorite show, Toddlers and Tiaras, “Sparkle baby!!!”. (yes we watch, and snark heavily. What a fabulous train wreck!)
